Oh, friends! I am so excited to share Amy and Kyle’s White Rock Lake engagement session with you today!
Last month has been insanely busy for me – I had back to back weddings, quite a few engagement sessions and some family & friends photo sessions. And all of it in the middle of holiday rush! But I decided I will take my quality time to edit this one because it’s on of the cutest sessions I’ve shot – hands down!
I never get to see Amy and Kyle in person – not until the day of the session anyway, so I wasn’t sure what to expect, and when I saw these two cuties waving-smiling at me from an open car window, I just knew the photo session will be great! So we literally started the session almost immediately and right at the parking lot!
Just a few clicks later, Kyle asked me if we could take a few pictures by the big tree. A tree? Everyone who knows me, also knows I am trying to stay away from any trees! Apparently the doubts on my face were pretty obvious, so Kyle smiled even wider (like if it was even possible) and appointed – a family tree.
The family tree!
It turned out that he used to leave near by and his family made it a little tradition to go out, get some ice creams and hang out around the big live oak. All the children would crawl oll over the branches enjoying their icy treats and their top (literally) view on the lake!
Now, how could I say pass on the opportunity to take a picture at such meaningful place?! Even if it turned out 15 minutes drive from the original place. Even if there was a pretty good chance to miss the sunset. I just knew it was worth it!
So we took a chance and hoped in Amy’s mom car to get this commute all together! And I should say, she delivered us to the tree and back in no time! In the 5 o’clock rush hour! In Dallas!
Oh, and I should mention that Amy and Kyle managed to change outfits too!
That was a race! I think my memories all smeared in one constant blur. I don’t think we’ve ever stopped for longer then a click and I’m pretty sure I vaguely remember running toward the marine to get those last sun streaks on camera, thinking I might be getting a bit old for that (or just need to exercise more :-p).
At the end, we took all the shots Amy and I were planning on, and I think even more! So the only thing I had left is to go through the beautiful images savoring the edit!
Amy and Kyle, thank you for being such a sweet and joyful couple! Thank you for all your giggles and for running with me toward the sunset… And especially, BIG THANK YOU for sharing with me this sweetest childhood memory. I hope, that in return, you’ll get to re-live the warms and significance of your engagement time by watching the images we’ve captured together!
